Privacy Policy for GlitchCode

Last Updated: September 2026

Summary for Parents: GlitchCode is designed specifically for children. We do not collect personal data, we do not track locations, we do not display third-party advertisements, and all coding exercises run 100% locally on your device.

1. Introduction & Mission

GlitchCode ("we", "our", or "the App") is developed by Tom Kushilevitz. We are committed to protecting the privacy of our young learners and their families. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding information collection, usage, and safety measures within the GlitchCode mobile application on iOS.

2. Children's Privacy Compliance (COPPA & GDPR-K)

GlitchCode is designed for children aged 9 to 13 and complies with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) in the United States, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR / GDPR-K) in the European Union and United Kingdom, and applicable local child protection regulations.

3. Information We Do NOT Collect

To ensure a safe environment, GlitchCode operates under a zero-unnecessary-data principle:

4. Information Stored Locally on Your Device

GlitchCode stores game progression data exclusively on your device's local storage (using device-level sandboxing). This data never leaves your device and includes:

Uninstalling the app or wiping app storage permanently deletes this local data.

5. In-App Purchases & Subscriptions

GlitchCode offers an optional paid subscription to unlock extended levels and projects. All financial transactions are managed directly through official app marketplace billing systems:

We do not collect, process, or store credit card numbers, billing addresses, or payment credentials. We utilize RevenueCat solely to validate anonymous receipt tokens generated by Apple to confirm whether Pro features should be active. RevenueCat processes this transactional data anonymously without collecting personal profiles on minors.

All purchase screens and links to subscription management are shielded by a Parental Gate requiring an adult to solve a challenge before proceeding.

6. Third-Party Services & Analytics

We do not integrate social media logins, advertising networks, or third-party behavioral tracking trackers. We may utilize standard, anonymized crash reporting and basic telemetry to diagnose application crashes, ensure app stability, and verify performance across different device architectures. Any such diagnostic data is completely aggregated and non-identifying.

7. External Links & Parental Gates

In compliance with store guidelines for apps in the Kids Category and Families Policy, any link leading outside of the app—such as viewing our Terms of Service, contacting customer support, or managing App Store subscriptions—is strictly guarded by a Parental Gate (requiring multiplication problem solving or adult verification) to prevent children from navigating to the open web without guidance.

8. Parents' Rights (Access & Deletion)

Parents and legal guardians have full control over their child’s experience. Because we do not store personal profiles on external cloud servers, parents can erase all user data, usernames, and game progress at any time directly within the app by navigating to Profile → Settings → Reset Progress, or by uninstalling the application from the device.

9. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect enhancements to our features or regulatory requirements. Any revisions will be posted to this page with an updated revision date. We encourage parents to review this policy periodically.
